Commanding the Home Front Command and Managing the 1998 Crisis due to Threats from Iraq
During the service of Brig. Gen. Avi Bachar as the HFC Chief of Staff, he was appointed as acting HFC Commander during 1998.
In this position, he brought the Command to a state of maximum preparedness during the crisis alert of November 1998 generated by Iraqi threats and the American response .
ISRATEAM’s staff was, at that time, the senior HFC staff as well. They dealt with all the issues of Home Front preparedness for missile attack on Israel including chemical and biological warhead attack.
The lessons learned from that era have been used subsequently for preparing the whole Home Front and was also the basis for the doctrine governing biological incidents.
